Salem Shuchman, Founder and Managing Partner at Entrepreneur Partners, a Philadelphia based Private Equity firm, joins Star Mountain Capital as a strategic investor and Operating Partner.
NEW YORK, June 19, 2018–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Star Mountain Capital, LLC (“Star Mountain”), a specialized investment manager focused exclusively on the large and underserved U.S. lower-middle market, is pleased to announce that Salem Shuchman has joined the team as a strategic personal investor and Operating Partner.
Leveraging his extensive private equity background, Mr. Shuchman will provide invaluable strategy advice and insights into helping Star Mountain’s portfolio investments maximize value.
Mr. Shuchman is a veteran private equity investor with a 30+ year track record at leading private equity firms including Apax Partners. He is currently the Founder and Managing Partner at Entrepreneur Partners, a Philadelphia based private equity firm making investments in U.S. lower middle-market companies.
His leadership experience includes having been a Senior Partner at Apax Partners, a private equity group manager managing $12 billion of assets in the U.S. and Europe at the time. Prior to Apax, Mr. Shuchman spent nearly a decade as a Principal at Odyssey Partners, an alternative investment fund managing both public equity as well as private equity investments.
Mr. Shuchman served on the Board of Trustees and the Investment Board at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia for 12 years, stepping down in June 2018. Mr. Shuchman has also served on the Board of Managers and Investment Committee for Swarthmore College for the last 18 years and effective in June 2018, he became the Chair of the Board at Swarthmore College.
Mr. Shuchman has a BA with honors in Political Science, Economics, and Philosophy from Swarthmore College. He is also a triathlete and three-time Ironman finisher.
